International Quarter London events for Stratford residents

Have you heard about all of the fantastic events happening at International Quarter London (IQL) this summer? There is plenty going on at our brand-new popup Calico; a café, bar and community focused events space. It serves a great selection of delicious coffees and locally brewed beer from Crate Brewery near to the canal in Hackney Wick, so it’s an ideal place to pop by on your lunch break or for an after work tipple overlooking the Stratford skyline.

A New and Better You at The Yard Theatre

Experience award-winning theatre just 15 minutes from Chobham Manor

Described as “the most important theatre in East London” (Time Out), The Yard in Hackney Wick has been making waves ever since the summer of 2011.

The Yard is where artists are discovered, and where the most exciting new voices in theatre begin their careers (like Michaela Coel, Chewing Gum, E4). Built in a converted warehouse, it offers a thrilling blend of tradition and innovation: its distinctive classical wooden amphitheatre nestles alongside a modern bar with a top of the range sound system, so audiences can drink and dance until the early hours after the shows. Visitors can also taste the freshest, most delicious foods on offer locally from pop-up residencies in the kitchen.

The latest offering from the theatre, A New And Better You, is an ‘unflinching and electrifying’ examination of ‘the dark side of self-improvement, of our insatiable desire to be smarter, sexier, and more popular.’ (The Stage) With a limited run until the 14th July, and four star reviews from The Stage, What’s On Stage, The Spy In The Stalls and London Theatre, there are only a few chances to catch it before it’s gone!

The Yard is a leisurely 15 minute stroll through the Olympic Park, and less than a minute from Hackney Wick overground. Chobham Manor residents can also get exclusive discounts through the Yard Local Card, free to anyone who lives or works in the local area, it gets you:

– 30% off full price tickets for selected Yard Theatre shows for you and a guest.*

– 10% off drinks in The Yard bar for the Yard Local Card holder.
