Filming on Abercrombie Road

A TV commercial shoot for Ford will be filmed along Abercrombie Road and the edge of the Lee Valley VeloPark and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The filming crew, 2am films, will be on site from 5am and leave approximately at 7pm both days.

The filming crew will ensure minimum disruption is caused to neighbouring residents.

IT Classes for the over 60’s in Hackney Wick

The Silver Surfers believe you’re never too old to learn a new skill and they are currently looking for local volunteers to help teach basic IT skills to over 60s in Hackney Wick.

You’ll be paired up with a silver surfer 1-2-1 to teach them how to use a computer, tablet or their smartphone, many for the first time. This could include browsing the internet, sending email, accessing local services and much more.

Tea and biscuits are served throughout and computers are provided. No experience is required but a friendly patient nature is obviously beneficial and you must be digitally savvy. You don’t have to help at every session but if you want to you’re more than welcome.

Classes take place every other Monday between 11am – 1pm on the following dates:

19 February

5 & 19 March

02, 16 & 30 April

14 & 28 May

11 & 25 June

Location: Trowbridge Senior Citizens Club, 15 Lavington Close, Hackney Wick, E9 5HF

Time:   7:00pm onwards

Place:   Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 2ST

A 5K run like no other is returning to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 3 March at 7pm.

Take on this enchanting journey of light and sound through the iconic grounds of Olympic Park by night. With fancy dress strongly encouraged – the brighter the better – grab your fluorescent clothes, head torches and glow sticks and take on this challenge with your friends and family.

Voted ‘5K of the Year’ in the Women’s Running Reader Awards 2017, expect to be swept away on a distinctively magical experience at this 5K run at dusk whilst gracing the grounds of World Athletics Champions.
